I assembled my current machine, megalith.rattlesnake.com, from parts purchased via mail order -- mostly high quality parts, such as cooling fans with ball bearings. It employs a 466 MHz Celeron CPU running on an SE440BX-2 motherboard with a i440BX chipset, and runs Debian GNU/Linux.
This machine has 128 megabytes of RAM, 14.3 gigabytes of hard disk, a modem, a floppy drive, a CD-ROM reader, a CD-writer, a tape drive, and an HP LaserJet printer. The monitor is a 20 inch Mitsubishi Diamond Scan with a resolution of 1280x1024.
My two other machines are old Pentium I boxes that I use for test purposes.
